As we explored, after breakfast, around the compound of the resort we found a hanging bridge across the Balung river leading to an oil palm plantation. 
There were a few small groups of locals hanging out there. But in a short while there was a sudden invasion of the locals for their sports day, barbeques and picnics.
Nearby was a café plus many shaded structures to cater to the day visitors’ convenience.
A check with the resort staff revealed there were other activities such as hiking, visit to a waterfall and even a ATV trail for those who needed an adrenalin rush. Unfortunately, hiking was not available that very day as they thought it would be dangerous due to heavy rain the previous night. Reckoned the trail had to pass through the Balung River. As for the visit to a waterfall, arrangement had to be done with an oil palm company.
A 3D2N night stay here would be perfect to accomplish all these activities. We only had 2D1N with much regrets. We shall definitely return to this Garden of Eden, especially for those hornbills. With that we end our stories for Tawau. Thanks for staying with us.
