Although we did not have enough time to do Sebangau National Park / Taman Nasional Sabanggau Kornelius suggested we rode to the jetty to have a view of this more than half a million hectare wetland. 15 years of government approved logging have stripped this park to near nakedness. Despite this unforgivable mistake about 6000 orang utans can still be found here among many other types of animals, in the wild. Sitting here at the jetty was fun too, watching kids playing in the water, family members fishing together and Kornelius training Goddie his 3/4 golden retriever to get into the water. Reward for him was 2 ice creams.

After Sebangau It was time for God! Kornelius invited us to join him for Sunday evening mass at his church. It was no ordinary church. Huge complex with its private radio station and a hall that could accommodate a rock concert.

We ended the day with a late dinner at a road side stall that sold awesome lontong Banjar. Never enjoyed lontong as much as this one here.
