Location : Kabupaten Pulang Pisau, Kalimantan Tengah, Indonesia.
When I cheekily asked Kornelius if there was any red light district in Palangka Raya he gave a quick smile. He gestured with his hand and something told me he had something quite exciting to show us. Off we rode to Danau Lais, parked our bikes and had a tour of the roadside market place.

After shopping for our dinner we strolled to nearby Taman Eden Or Garden of Eden where forbidden apples were eaten in a very well organised park with plank walks leading to cute tiny stilted chalets with Thai design. We had a quick check on the inside of the chalets and found them barely furnished with just a tiny mattress and some very roughly sawn logs as furniture.

Occasionally, we would see young couples come and go with their helmets and sunglasses on, holding snacks and drinks. It was just a nice place for young couples to make out without the danger of being mugged. Definitely a lovers paradise and not a red light district. But if you were a nature lover you would love this place with so many varieties of plants and flowers planted on and alongside the plank walks. The park covers both sides of the road.

Line fishing is available at here at Rp5,000. I wonder what types of fish would survive the blackish water. Overnight stay per chalet is Rp40,000. Short time is Rp35,000. Looks like ‘quickie’ is not encouraged here.

I wonder if tight budget tourists who love flora so much would give this place a try. Honestly, we love this place. If only the chalets were designed more friendlier.
