Location : Kampung Biatan Bapinang, Kecamatan Biatan, Kabupaten Berau, Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia.
When our tour guide was also our driver and most importantly the boss as well, that made our travel plan so much more flexible, fulfilling and fun. When we requested for extras like the waterfall, blue lake and hotspring, as we headed towards Tanjung Redeb, he made no fuss about additional costs. He obliged without any questions asked. But of course not all bosses are like Nur. We were lucky indeed to know him.
After much shopping done by Nur at Talisayan which was a busy commercial fishing village situated at an estuary, we continued our journey to catch lunch at Biatan Lempake the half way village.

Since Pemapak hotspring at Biatan Bapinang village was only 15min drive away, we might as well check it out. It seemed quite a popular weekend spot for the locals judging by the amount of trash. The water was way too hot for a full body dip. It took us quite a while to be able to get our feet in.

We finally arrived at Tanjung Redeb and put up the night where we would continue our journey the next day to Malinau. When we arrived at Mitra Hotel it was already dark. Bade farewell to Nur and tipped him well for all the extra efforts. Shuddered to think he had to drive back to Samarinda that very night for another 15hrs. Super human power! Respect.
