Location : Dusun Betung, Desa Tangguh, Kecamatan Siding, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia.
The second day of the event was the official opening early in the morning by the Bupati of Bengkayang Pak Gidot. He and his entourage was met at the same welcoming spot both villages and another round of animal sacrifice was carried out.
Speeches were made by the two headmen before Pak Gidot gave his words of encouragement.
After the protocol was done with, they proceeded up to the newly constructed baruk (copy right granted by Sebujit!) before lunch was served.
It was good to see all the other nearby villagers like Kapot, Sebujit and Tadan making their presence too for the merry making, visiting their friends and relatives, keeping the Gawai spirit alive for the rest of the day. The evening program continued with the usual bamboo chopping, the hilarious inverted bamboo pole climbing to entertain the crowd and lastly the pig sacrifice up in the baruk.
