Location : Dusun Dawar/Segonde, Desa Pisak, Kecamatan Tujuh Belas/Sanggau Ledo, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia.
Riam Merasap with the height of around 20meter and width of 8meter is directly reachable by motorbike. Should not take more than 90 minutes by road from Bengkayang. Passing through scenic paddy fields and decent asphalt road one should arrive at Ledo in about an hour before arriving at Sanggau Ledo. Road signages indicating ‘Riam Merasap’ can be seen along the way to help lead you to this fall. In fact most waterfalls are indicated as you will notice.
A mini hydro sits on top of Riam Merasap.
Riam Merasap is more famous for its 2 annual religious gatherings for the worshiping of Mother Mary. This place gets very crowded during the fiesta months of May and October.
Merasap which means ‘smokey’ or in this case misty. Do not underestimate this fall, it has claimed many lives through the years.
