Location : Bawie Longhouse, Ulu Lemanak, Lubok Antu, Sri Aman, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Early next morning we did the 15 minutes trek to Rumah Chindan as Charlie had to fix some electrical issues there. While he was busy doing that we took a tour of this very short longhouse and spent time talking to the locals. (Check out Day 1 here)

One couple grumbled about his son who only came back once a year to visit and never brought home money. Another lady hinted about her daughter who was still single. Maybe she wanted us to find her a suitor from the city. The last family we visited was that of Gasin, a very sad case. He was blinded after a jungle accident from cutting tree and now taken care of by his widowed daughter in law.

After the visit we went back to Rumah Dasu to continue with more treatments. We packed up just before noon and before bidding farewell to Bawie we made a quick dash to Wong (waterfall) Giam to take some photos.

We took the new route back which was very much shorter, not even 2 hours. Many steep climbs here to dizzying heights and the sudden descents caused quite a pain to my ear drums.

[…] The first day session started at around 7.30pm just after dinner. As usual a long line of patients suffering from knee and lower back problems. Luckily I had Mei Er, Janet and even Dr Sentil to help out. Otherwise I would have to carry on way past midnight. We managed to call it a day just after 11.30pm. Sore and tired but was glad to hear from the folks the word after the treatment, ‘nyamai’ meaning ‘feeling good’ in the Iban language. (Check out Day 2 here) […]
