Location : Dusun Sebujit, Desa Hli Buei, Kecamatan Siding, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia.
Nyobeng Sebujit is an annual traditional gawai harvest festival event. Sebujit is a Bidayuh tribe village in Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan, Indonesia.

The organizing chairman for 2018 Nyobeng event was Pak Gunawan. With the support of the Bengkayang regency’s office, he had wanted to make the event as grand as it could be. He soughted my help in promoting the event over on the Sarawak side and I obliged most willingly. There were many phone calls and text messages between the two of us and even meeting up for lunch at Ledo while I was covering the Laek Nyobeng. Just so we could agree on many issues pertaining to the invitation of Sarawakians. We helped spread the word to as many Bidayuhs as possible and even took up an advert on Facebook! We got quite a handful of curious local Chinese and Ibans. The Bidayuhs could enter through the border at Serikin on their own without much hassle due to the rights of their ethnicity.
Among us were mostly bloggers, journalists, photographers, tour operator and active adventurers. Our convoy were made up of 10 cars, 10 motorbikes and three tough cyclists. Among us included, French, Swede, English, Hungarian and Kiwis. Kind of international wasn’t it.

Take note that the bridge at Merendeng has recently been completed. Now everyone can drive right up to the doorstep of Sebujit. Enjoy the photos and the memories.
