Location : Dusun Nanga Lapung, Desa Bungan Jaya, Kecamatan Putussibau Selatan, Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia.
We bade our final farewell with Mr & Mrs Anton at the jetty of Nanga Bungan and hurried back to pick Lala and the girls at Nanga Lapung. It was way beyond lunch time but the snacks we had at Anton’s place held back the hunger a little longer.
As soon as we arrived at Nanga Lapung, we alighted quickly in search of Lala. It was no easy task. There was no one around to ask as most folks were away at their farms. The quietness could be a little eerie for city folks. We finally located her at the very end of the village chatting with some old friends.

While doing a quick tour of the place we came across a Punan guy carving wooden beads for his necklace.

We noticed a sape (Borneo guitar) in his house and requested for him to play a tune or two. He obliged.

The environment was perfect with the Kapuas river flowing behind and surrounded by virgin jungle. Sweet was the sounds from his sape. Unforgettable, even though the encounter was a flicker of a moment in our lives.
