Organising the transfer from Kampung Ayun to Kampung Sapit was troublesome until the very last minute when we finally got confirmation from 2 van drivers from Kampung Assum and Parang. Luckily too the rain never came that morning although the boxes of books were wrapped in trash bags. The whole group waited at the Sapit river near Kampung Parang as our host Mr Begus organised the ‘ojeks’ or motorbike taxis. Multiple trips had to be made up to the 440m high village along narrow concrete path.

There were a lot more kids here in Kampung Sapit compared to Ayun. Right after lunch some enthusiastic kids started to gather at the village hall. rural, authentic, indigenous, Borneo Heights, Highlands, Kuching, Padawan, Malaysia, volunteer, Community Service, seva, education, native, dayak bidayuh, Non Profit Organization, rural, village, authentic, indigenous, Highlands, Kampung Sapit, Kuching, Padawan, Borneo Heights, Community Service, seva, native, dayak bidayuh, Non Government Organization, 沙捞越, authentic, indigenous, Borneo Heights, Highlands, village, Kuching, charity, volunteer, Community Service, seva, education, native, dayak bidayuh, tribe, Non Government Organization, rural mini library, authentic, indigenous, Borneo Highlands, Kampung Sapit, village, Padawan, charity, volunteer, education, native, dayak bidayuh, tribe, 沙捞越, sevaWhile waiting for the unpacking and labeling, Mr Low Chee Leong made the concrete path his classroom to draw the kids away from the busy hall.
