Organising the transfer from Kampung Ayun to Kampung Sapit was troublesome until the very last minute when we finally got confirmation from 2 van drivers from Kampung Assum and Parang. Luckily too the rain never came that morning although the boxes of books were wrapped in trash bags. The whole group waited at the Sapit river near Kampung Parang as our host Mr Begus organised the ‘ojeks’ or motorbike taxis. Multiple trips had to be made up to the 440m high village along narrow concrete path.

Thank God no untoward incident happened during those trips with the kids holding on well. There were a lot more kids here in Kampung Sapit compared to Ayun. Right after lunch some enthusiastic kids started to gather at the village hall.
While waiting for the unpacking and labeling, Mr Low Chee Leong made the concrete path his classroom to draw the kids away from the busy hall.

For the next two days and nights they were kept busy by the KAMI group of volunteers. Next……learn how to cook sticky rice in pitcher plant.
