Our participation in this year’s Sebujit Nyobeng was a last minute decision.

Thank God that Aking the son of Sebujit’s Ketua Adat got wind of our coming and waited for us at Serikin town to help organize the ‘ojeks’ to bring us in from the midway village of Merendeng.

This year’s celebration was not as grand as its reciprocal village of Padang Pan could not visit due to the passing of its senior priestess. The usual media and photographer guys were nowhere to be seen. The quieter than normal celebration gave Pak Gunawan the eldest son of Pak Amin time to mingle with us more and shared his big dream of making next year’s Nyobeng the biggest and grandest ever. We look forward to that with much enthusiasm and wish him every success…….Nyobeng 2017.
