Medical Seva at Telok Melano, Sematan Sarawak

Location : Kampung Telok Melano & Talang Satang National Park, Sematan, Lundu District, Kuching Division, Sarawak, Malaysia.

The road trip from Kuching took about 2hrs and the boat ride, depending on engine power, was an hour. Water supply during this hot weather is an issue. Despite the gov’t’s spending millions on wind turbine generators, none of the windmills could produce electricity. Total failure!

So kampung folks still have to fall back on their gen sets. Although a very beautiful seaside village there was an obvious foul stench in the air as we strolled through the village. I wonder if it was due to leaky or overflowing septic tank. A very big minus for tourism.

The next morning I got Man the ojek to give me a ride across the border to Temajuk Kalimantan Indonesia. The beaches there were awesome. (For more info, please click here). On our way back we made a brief stopover at Talang Besar turtle island.
