Location : Kampung Sibakar, Padawan, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Annah Rais Longhouse and its Hot spring are perhaps the 2 biggest attrations in the Padawan region. But what’s beyond these 2 are seldom noticed or heard of. For example, Kampung Sibakar, one of the 4 villages near to the Indonesian border. It has the cutest triple pool waterfall.

The 20min walk to the waterfall is a lot more pleasant now as the villagers there have put some efforts to give it a new look. Bamboo decks, handrails, benches and a bridge across the pool which won them a RM500 prize for a certain government inspired contest.
On the way to waterfall

Lots more could still be done to make this place safer and user friendly. There are no changing room and toilet. The slippery slopes around the pool is dangerous to walk on. Some cement work could easily solve this problem. The ‘cave’ is always wet or damp due to rain water flowing in from the top. This could be solved by cementing a ‘bullnose’ across the top part of the cave’s mouth.

The second tier pool is seldom used due to poor accessibility. Perhaps a spiral staircase or some kind of ladder be constructed from the cave side. Lastly, the bamboo bridge across the main pool should be replaced with a permanent and stronger belian structure.

If we can have all the suggestions in place I am sure city folks would be more than happy to come and pay for the entrance to enjoy this value added beauty. Its a pity Sibakar until now is still not capitalising on this asset.

Dear Admin,
Am from Kuching and I would love to visit this Sibakar waterfall.
Please advise, after passing through Annah Rais hotspring, how long would we need to continue on and where to stop?
Hi Eric,
After Annah Rais hotspring, you must pass the villages of Sadir & Sibuan before continuing another 10 mins to Sibakar.
