Location : Crown Towers, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
The festival has a series of drum performances based on the rhythm drum beat called ‘The Thunder Beats of Nanyang Wushu Drums’. The art was choreographed by federation instructor-in-chief grandmaster Professor Datuk Seri Dr Song Swee Hee in 1993. The 12 drums represent the 12 months of the year, four sets of cymbals represents the four seasons, while the gong represents one cycle of a year.
The highlight of the event will be the multicultural drums performance called ‘Seribu Rentak’. It reflects the beats of the various ethnic groups in Sarawak such as the Iban, Bidayuh, Orang Ulu, Malay, Chinese and Indians. Besides ‘Seribu Rentak’, the 1Malaysia cultural dance and wushu will be performed. (Source : www.theborneopost.com)
