Most of the surrounding plantations have been sold to investors who have no interest in the industry. Her 2 uncles are still running the business. Other than coconut trees, other fruit trees and vegetables do not do very well on this over exploited land. Acidity must have reached saturation point by now. Unless some innovative agricultural technologies intervene farmers here are not going to see better days ahead.
