My infatuation with waterfall is becoming an obsession. Pushing my luck pass Kampung Sapit (Sarawak side) into Kampung Gun (Indonesia side) for the love of Mureh Twin waterfalls about 50′ apart 80′ drop. Beautiful concrete track for most part with 70 min trek time separating the 2 villages w/o CIQ but still wishing the Dutch & English never drew that bloody line called international border between Sapit & Gun. A lot of blood connection across the border which makes our ‘illegal’ crossing safe as long as we are not caught by the sudden appearance of Brigade Mobil of Indonesia which can be very disastrous. But it was a calculated risk & thank God we got away with it. Will I gamble again? Why not!
Canon like ‘bong’ is tilted so the water filter inside the bamboo will not spill
Less than 10 min we arrived at the border.
Concrete illegal routes, can’t complain. Better than I thought.
First pit stop, notice the bong at the foreground. It’s public property, just buy your own tobacco
Reached Gun (pronounce as Goon) village
Love this bamboo shack
First of many pangolin traps on the way to the fall

Before using the ginger leaves to wrap rice for cooking, the spine of the leaves must be partially peeled to make it bendable.

Great trip, how I wish if I can go the same route to experience the wildness of the border.
