This one has got to be the ultimate waterfall challenge from tier 6 to 12. Jay & I had been talking about this trip for almost 3 weeks. Rain started as we arrived at the trailhead. It dampened our clothes but not our spirits for our goal today is to stand on tier 12 and nothing is going to stop us.
The steps leading to the pipeline have all been completed. Trek along the pipeline was business as usual without the excitement of a rafflesia in full bloom but there was bud which will take another 3 months to bloom. The group of 18 took a short break at the weir as the Cap Apek bottle was passed from lips to lips.
The jungle trail took us about 30min with a lot of rattan vines running on the floor. The steep & slippery slope to the stream was tricky, the rope I brought along came in handy but I was helpless when some of the ladies were under attack by leeches. The screaming is still ringing in my ears. Love it!

Settled & enjoyed our packed lunches at tier7 before 10 of us decided to start the assault. Ben at his usual lightning pace broke away from the group while I was busy with my camera. As we climbed on the slower ones dropped off including poor Jay who was so determined initially to see Sebako in its glory. Joe caught up on Ben & me while surprisingly Mervin & Natalie showed up too but were happy just to stay at tier 10 sitting there whispering sweet nothings. As Ben, Joe & I sat on tier 12 soaking in the beauty & negative ions feelings of satisfaction & victory seeped into me. At the same time the thought of the dangers & accidents (especially when it suddenly rains) made me shudder, as we all did it without even a piece of rope. And the worst crime was to do it as individuals & not as a team……….i confess. So soooooory guys, next trip we will all celebrate with hot coffee at tier 12 TOGETHER as a TEAM……I promise. Good to hear from you always, bro. Whatever bad patch you are going through at the moment we wish you every strength and hope you come out stronger than ever. Desmond seems pretty occupied these days. Good for him. We’ll convey your greetings to him. As for the captcha code, I’m wondering if anything can be done. But thanks for bringing it to our attention.
