After the morning session of regatta was over we decided to survey the waterfront area for the best spot to watch the 3.00pm river parade. It was going to be a hot day and anything with a roof would be sensible. We arrived early that afternoon and headed for the upper deck of the floating café. Made ourselves comfortable away from the heat and ordered 3 glasses of the best drink of Indonesia, cold avocado/choc smoothie. Never leave Indonesia without trying this delicious drink! Eventually, one by one the beautifully decorated boats left their starting point under the Kahayan bridge and headed downstream in our direction. What surprised me was that there was more to the ornamental display of the boats. There was a complete team of musicians and dancers on board to entertain the crowd.River Parade, Festival budaya, Isen Mulang, Authentic, Borneo, 中加里曼丹, Kalteng, culture, native, Suku Dayak, event, Sungai Kahayan, Obyek wisata, Tourism, travel guide, tribe River Parade, Lomba Jukung, Festival budaya, Isen Mulang, Pesta adat, Authentic, Indonesia, Palangkaraya, Ethnic, Suku Dayak, Kahayan River, Pariwisata, tourist attraction, traditional, travel guide, tribe River Parade, Lomba Jukung, Festival budaya, Isen Mulang, Pesta adat, Authentic, Borneo, Kalteng, Palangkaraya, culture, native, Sungai Kahayan, Obyek wisata, Tourism, traditional, tribe Lomba Jukung, Festival budaya, Isen Mulang, Indigenous, Central Kalimantan, 中加里曼丹, Palangkaraya, carnival, culture, Suku Dayak, event, Sungai Kahayan, Obyek wisata, Tourism, traditional, travel guide, River Parade, Lomba Jukung, Festival budaya, Isen Mulang, Indigenous, Central Kalimantan, 中加里曼丹, Indonesia, carnival, native, event, Sungai Kahayan, Pariwisata, tourist attraction, traditional, tribal, River Parade, Lomba Jukung, Pesta adat, Indigenous, Borneo, cultural dance, central Kalimantan, carnival, Ethnic, native, Sungai Kahayan, Obyek wisata, tourism, traditional, tribal, tribe Competition for the best boat must be stiff. I was expecting fire instead of water though. Anyway, it was an awesome 2hr plus of entertainment here at the Kahayan river. Great efforts indeed by the participants.
