Location : Kampung Padang Pan, Bau, Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

This is the first ‘nyobeng’ between Sebujit guests (Indonesia) and host Padang Pan as the later replaces Gumbang. There were 2 informal welcoming ceremonies on the first day. First one was in the jungle at the last stream before the border in Gumbang. The second was at the logging track near to Padang Pan. The Indonesian guests, 20 strong, were driven in 4 cars to Kampung Padang Pan 10 minutes away. Pak Amin the headman of Sebujit and his gang changed to their traditional red gears before meeting the awaiting contingent of Padang Pan also in red. More tuak flowed as they exchange greetings after which both parties marched to the Baruk. Dancing continued for 15minutes. I guess the Sebujit villagers must be very tired and hungry by now. Time to eat.
